With Easter less than a month away I thought I'd post a fun Easter themed dessert that's cute and yet super easy {and fun!} to make with the kids! Since I'm 39 weeks pregnant I am all about making easy things right now! ;)
So, without further ado, I present...
Brownie Bird Nests
|
All you need is a boxed brownie mix (or make your own home made!), the ingredients your brownie mix calls for, and mini robin eggs. |
|
Then get your own personal super hero to stir up the brownie mix for you. |
|
Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray and divide the brownie batter equally. |
|
Bake at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes. |
|
Let the brownies cool for about 15 minutes, then remove them from the pan and smoosh three robin eggs in the middle of each. |
|
And finally, get your adorable taste testers to see if they approve! Isaiah loved them and ate two! |
|
Eloise wasn't so sure. She ate all her eggs... |
|
...but just licked the brownie. But she's not a huge fan of sweets so I'm not surprised. =)
ENJOY!

those are cute and fun! I need to make things gluten free but there is gluten free brownie mix and I could do jelly beans or something similar. thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteThat could definitely work, Brandi! And they would be just as cute with jelly beans!!
DeleteI agree that the best brownies are made by super heroes being supervised by their sister. Eloise just cracks me up with how much personality she has! Is Isaiah pretty cheerful?
ReplyDeleteLol. They both have so much personality! Our house is never boring... Isaiah is definitely a cheerful, silly little guy. Both these kids keep us laughing. ;)
DeleteThese look fun! I love Isaish's costume. He and Seth must be in the same phase, Seth likes to wear Batman everywhere that we will let him. Granfma's, Nana's, the grocery store...
ReplyDeleteYes, Isaiah is all about superheros these days! He has two shirts that have capes that velcro on and he wants to wear one or the other pretty much every day! Then he runs around the house thinking his cape can make him fly. ;) Silly boys!
DeleteThis recipe is so great to make with kiddos! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little hero helper you have ;)
Thanks, Liga! I think so too. =)
DeleteThese look adorable. They will sure be a hit around Easter. My mother in law makes something with chocolate rice krispies.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many varieties that you could make with this same idea... lots of desserts could make a cute little "nest" for the eggs. It would be fun to experiment with different things!
DeleteHi Amber. Thanks for sharing this with the Pintastic Pinteresting Party. I love brownies and these look great. What a great super hero helper. I need one of those. Thanks again.
